Summary for this project
Helping Hands is for high school students and their parents to discover new community service events, keep track of how many community service hours they have completed, keep track of upcoming community service events on their calendar, and photo gallery. The app would be useful for high school students and their parents to find community service events to volunteer at that’s near them. Its also very useful for the student volunteers because they can choose to filter the volunteer opportunities they find by the categories that interest them.
Future work
Our future plans for this project would be to add more interfaces for the community service venues to use. We would also like to create more pages which would be important for the continuation and overall flow of the app. Lastly we would like to test the finalized prototype of the app on real life users to see if the app its self is useful to them and change the community service interface to be more user friendly, adding in a login/sign up interface, and a way for the users to add they favorite venues that the system will do automatically.
