Describe
This is a project called Identify, research and solve a common Human problem (IRSHP). The intended audience for this project was for workers, who are affects by wage theft from their employers. I want to include it in my portfolio because it’s shows that I can identify a common human problem or a global problem and create a possibly solution for it.
Problem Statement
In the 10 most populous U.S. states 2.4 million workers lose $8 billion annually which is nearly a quarter of their earned wages & this form of wage theft affects 17 percent of low-wage workers.
Significance of Study
The significance of this study is that if this solution is successful it will positively impact the millions of American workers being exploited by their employers everyday. Wage theft affects worker’s livelihoods, well-being, and mental health, and bringing awareness to the possible solutions for these issues can help them out.

Solution
An application for workers to input worked hours per work period in order to track estimated wage. Along with this users input the work period’s pay information in order to compare to the estimated pay. If users gained less than expected they get sent to their state’s wage claim form and can submit it to the state government through the app. Information is also provided on the app regarding union info and workers rights, per state
